Condenser Approach Temperature

Key indicator of condenser heat transfer efficiency. The difference between leaving condenser water temperature and the saturated refrigerant temperature reflects the theoretical lowest the refrigerant can be cooled. A clean condenser at full load is typically 1 to 3 degrees F; fouling widens this.
