Drift eliminator

Definition

A tower component that captures entrained water droplets from the exhaust air to minimize drift loss.

By stripping fine droplets from the leaving air, drift eliminators cut drift to roughly 0.001 to 0.006 percent of the recirculation rate. This reduces both water loss and the carryover of treated, concentrated water out of the system. It keeps drift a minor term in the water balance.
