Avogadro’s number
Definition
The constant 6.022 x 10^23 particles per mole that connects the microscopic and macroscopic worlds.
It defines how many elementary entities are in one mole and lets you convert between mass, moles, and particle count. It also establishes that an element’s atomic mass in u equals its molar mass in grams per mole. Multiplying moles by Avogadro’s number gives the literal number of atoms, molecules, or ions present.
