Dimensional analysis
Definition
Disciplined unit conversion in which conversion factors are arranged so units cancel, confirming a calculation ends in the right units.
It is the single habit the author would instill in every water treater because skipping it leads to order-of-magnitude overdoses. Conversion factors can be flipped so the starting unit cancels with the denominator, which lets you check your work as you go. Worked end to end it converts fluid ounces to milliliters to grams to moles to molecules of water.
