Definition

Industrial zones that are warm but below boiling tend to suffer the most severe oxygen-driven damage because they hold enough oxygen and enough thermal energy for rapid electron transfer.

Examples include preheat exchangers, warm storage tanks, low-flow warm recirculation loops, and ambient-warm makeup lines. These environments combine retained dissolved oxygen with elevated temperature, an ideal setup for destructive oxidation. The pattern is not intuitive but it is predictable, and it is most pronounced where oxygen is continuously replenished.
