Oxygen solubility versus temperature

Definition

Oxygen solubility in water falls as temperature rises, from about 14.6 mg/L at 0 C to near 0 mg/L at 100 C.

Reference values at atmospheric pressure are about 14.6 mg/L at 0 C, about 8.3 mg/L at 25 C, about 4.4 mg/L at 60 C, and approaching 0 mg/L at 100 C. From a purely thermodynamic view, raising temperature looks helpful because it reduces oxygen availability and total oxidizing capacity. That is only half the story once kinetics are considered.
