Chilled water loop

Definition

The closed water circuit that absorbs heat from the building and carries it to the chiller evaporator.

Chilled water is produced by the chiller, pumped to air handlers, fan coils, and process heat exchangers, absorbs heat, and returns to be cooled again. Water typically leaves the evaporator around 42 to 44 degrees Fahrenheit. This loop is the demand side that the building consumes.
