Conductivity Controller
Definition
The automatic sensor and valve system on a boiler that meters blowdown based on boiler water conductivity. It is the most critical sensor in boiler water treatment.
If the controller reads low, the blowdown valve stays closed, cycles skyrocket, and scale, carryover, and foaming risk increase silently. Conductivity controllers on blowdown systems must be validated against a calibrated handheld meter on every visit. They translate the cycles-of-concentration logic into automatic control.
