Definition
The practice of managing water chemistry, cycles, metallurgy, and biological growth to protect water’s ability to move energy in thermal systems.
It exists not to control water but to protect its superpower as a heat transfer medium. Managing chemistry, controlling cycles, protecting metallurgy, and preventing biological growth all defend against assaults on that capacity. This is why water sits at the center of nearly every thermal system we build.
