Metal path
Definition
The metal path is the conductive route that allows electrons to move from the anode to the cathode.
It completes the circuit alongside the electrolyte, which carries the ions. Breaking the circuit with films, coatings, or insulation is one way to stop corrosion. It is one of the four requirements for electrochemical corrosion.
