Definition
The influence of temperature on the relative stability of the dissolved state versus the solid state.
Added thermal energy generally makes the dissolved state more favorable for most salts by offsetting the cost of separating ions from the lattice. Calcium carbonate is an exception because rising temperature disrupts hydration ordering and drives off carbon dioxide. Temperature biases the negotiation but fluctuates and does not accumulate, so it sets where solubility collapses rather than driving scale on its own.
