Deposits

Definition

What suspended solids become once they stop moving, settle, and collect on surfaces, wedging into corners and low-flow zones.

Deposits steal access to the surfaces where corrosion, biofilms, scale, and heat transfer are decided. Once deposits take over a surface, chemistry fights behind a wall it cannot reliably penetrate. They are the central mechanism by which solids amplify nearly every other failure mode.
